A lovely day and a lovely wedding for Caroline and Thomas. I started at their house for the getting ready photographs and Caroline was extremely calm and relaxed ( not all my brides are in the morning which is understandable with everything going on). It always amazes me how much a bride has to do in the morning to get ready, so much preparation and often surrounded by all the bridesmaids maybe her mother and sister/s too and then the groom usually has the easy bit just him and his mates have to have a shower, comb their hair, get into a nice suit maybe have a quick drink and go to the ceremony. I am not being biased as a female photographer but seriously us women cope so much better with lots of things going on around us than the men would. Caroline’s flowers arrived during the getting ready bit and they really were fabulous such great colours and very summery. Caroline wore a very elegant dress and her two bridesmaids wore stunning blue satin dresses designed and made by one of her bridesmaids as was Caroline’s mothers Jacket. The groom and groomsmen all wore a steel blue suit andtwo pageboys looked adorable in their blue suits too. The ceremony was at St Peter’s church in St Albans which has great grounds for photographs especially under the trees leading to the archway and door. The car was by Heritage Classic Cars someone I have had the pleasure to meet at various weddings, they are not only lovely cars but reasonably prices with excellent service. The reception was at Ardmore House Hotel St Albans which also has a very pretty garden and as they weather was very hot it was in the garden that we spent a few hours in with all the guests. This is always a great time to get some relaxed photographs of the bride and groom plus quests enjoying themselves when I try for them not to realize I am photographing them. It all seemed to go so fast and then it was the reception, speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance. I think Caroline and Thomas enjoyed their day immensely.
