Krishna & Andrew were getting married at Sopwell House Hotel and wanted a wedding photographer to capture two weddings. A Hindu Wedding and then an English Wedding both at Sopwell House Hotel St Albans. This would mean two getting ready sections, two ceremonies, two “Just the two of us” moments then one lavish reception followed by Fireworks and then dancing. I was very happy to cover this especially as I had not photographed a Hindu Wedding before so this would be interesting, colorful and extremely photographic! It was an early start at 8am. The bride had two absolutely beautiful dresses, one for each ceremony and both extremely different from each other. There was lots of Gold, Red, Green Blue colors fro the Hindu Wedding and Krishna was a stunning bride. Her makeup artist did Krishna’s makeup and hair for both ceremonies and did an amazing job – I was very impressed. I was fortunate to have a great Videographer Roger Lowe from Diamond Films who has shot many Hindu Wedding so was very generous in giving me extra tips on what was about to take place. It is also great to work with someone who is very professional but also respects that you too have a job to do as a photographer so you work around and with each other so you both do the best job for the client. After the Hindu Ceremony it was time to take some lovely photographs of just Krishna & Andrew around the grounds. It was a freezing day so hats off the Bride and Groom for walking around the gardens even though they were cold. I do try and take the photographs quickly so that the couple do not literally freeze! Next it was the getting ready for the English Ceremony. The make up and hair was changed ( Krishna looked equally stunning on both) , then the ceremony ( always great to see my friends from St Albans Registry Office The Gatehouse) and then more lovely photographs of the couple but this time inside too as it was getting dark and very very cold. The reception room was lit beautifully by Sopwell House Hotel and great table decorations with just the right amount of flowers. After the reception it was outside for Fireworks. The weather was now really really cold and both myself and the Videographer set up beforehand so we were ready to shoot with just he right amount of exposure and lighting to the Bride and Groom plus firework display. You have to get this right as there is no second chance. It took 5 minutes from when the fireworks started for it finish – you do not want to mess this up. Thankfully we got great photos and video of this great Wedding Firework display at Sopwell House Hotel. It was very nice to get back into the warm and take some romantic shots of Krishna and Andrew dancing A great Wedding which also shattered at the end I thoroughly enjoyed.
